Santa Clara County Public Defenders Office.
This is the county agency of Attorneys that handle criminal defense cases for persons who are indigent and cannot afford a private attorney. To get a public defender assigned to a case, generally a defendant must appear in court and ask for one - they qualify under the counties income testing.
Santa Clara County Superior Court
This court handles criminal and traffic court matters for the cities of San Jose, Palo Alto, and others nearby. They have a separate traffic and criminal division with separate clerks. There are at least 4 courthouses in this county, so make ure you know which one you are supposed to be at.
Traffic Court Forms by the Judicial Council
